Self-Service Dog Wash: Take Pooch From Smelly to Cuddly in 11 Minutes
What’s the easiest way to deal with a dirty dog? At the Clean Getaway’s self-service dog wash of course! Meet Suki, she’s just had a bath at the self-service dog wash. A flat-coat retriever has a lot of fur to maintain, and the self-service station allowed me to easily wash, rinse, and dry her in 11 minutes. All of the products – shampoo, conditioner, and dryer, are included in the price of the service.
Less Stress. Bathing a hairy 65 lb dog is usually a challenge. At home, we have to trick her into coming into the bathroom, lift her into the tub, pour bucket after bucket of water on her, towel her off before she escapes and shakes inside the house, and deal with the hairy walls when we’re done (think white tile & black fur). The dog wash is designed to simplify all of that – and it worked perfectly.
Set Up & Supplies. The self-service dog wash has its own space, when we went arrived we easily figured out how to operate everything. Suki walked up to the bathing station, used a step stool and a gate to get into the tub without any lifting, and was at a comfortable height for an adult (or a middle schooler) to work on the dog. There are leashes inside the tub too, to secure the pooch when you need hands for washing.
Clean Up. The $10 wash itself can be paid with a credit card, cash, or quarters. Once you’ve paid, you have 11 minutes to get to work. Admittedly, that didn’t seem like it would be enough time to finish up – but it was surprisingly plenty. Moving at your own pace, you can wash (choose between regular or flea shampoo), condition, rinse, and dry. The water is set to an ideal temperature, and during the wash cycle the soap is diluted for easy application. The dryer has 2 settings to accommodate your canine’s preference. If you do want a few more minutes, you can add them for $1.
If you forget a towel, or want a treat, there are vending machines to cover that too. We rewarded Suki with a breath cleaning dog treat to finish up. All in all, an awesome experience. Clean Getaway – for your vehicle, and your dog!
