Use a Designated Dog Wash Before Winter

We’ve been having a few last days of warmer weather as we get closer to winter and cool temperatures, and you can take advantage of the last bit of heat with the dog wash at Clean Getaway. Attached to our main car wash facility on KL/Drake Rd., the self-service dog wash center has everything that you need to get your canine friend soft as silk once again.

Fit any pup

With the large tank at the dog wash at Clean Getaway, you can fit any size dog for a routine bath. The space we offer is large enough for any large dogs, but also totally useable by any smaller dogs as well. With water hoses, your dog, no matter the size, can get every part of their body sprayed down and washed with ease.

No mess left

When you bring your dog down for a wash at Clean Getaway, you don’t have to worry about the mess that ensues the same way you do when you give them a bath at home. Fur, mud, and dirty bath water can get thrown all around when you give your furry friend a bath in the tub at home, but in our designated dog wash space, you don’t have to worry about the mess.

Options for your wash

When you get to work on your pup, you have options of cleaning materials you use to make sure they get the best clean possible. We offer dog-safe shampoo as well as flea shampoo in case your canine companion is feeling extra itchy. With the soap diluted into our soft water with the wash cycle, you know that your dog wash will not only be efficient, but comfortable as well.

With over 40 years of experience, Clean Getaway has the developed the services and products that best serve you when washing your car. No matter the type of vehicle you own, you can be sure to give it a quality wash at Clean Getaway Car Wash.

Tips for Increasing the Life of Your Windshield Wipers from Your Kalamazoo Auto Detail Company

At Clean Getaway, your Kalamazoo auto detail company, we know that no one enjoys replacing their windshield wipers. Let’s face it, they’re no fun to put on and quality wipers are not cheap. In this post, we will look at some simple tips for increasing the life of your windshield wipers.

Stay out of the sun

While you obviously can’t avoid the sun completely, you should do your best to not park in direct sunlight. Ultraviolet (UV) rays may dry out your windshield wipers and cause cracking. Besides protecting your windshield wipers, parking in the shade will also help keep your vehicle’s paint from fading.

Get rid of debris

Instead of turning on your windshield wipers to get rid of debris, you should remove the debris by hand. Leaves, sticks, and other debris can damage the rubber and other components of your wiper blades.

Keep them clean

Any time you wash your vehicle you should also wash your windshield wipers. Even if you go through a automatic car wash, debris and dirt can still be trapped under the blades making them less effective.

Turn them off

For one, you can use windshield treatments that repel droplets of rain, allowing you to see without having your windshield wipers on. You also need to make sure that you turn your wipers off as soon as it stops raining or turn them down if it is raining less and causing them to rub on your windshield.

Don’t use on a frosty windshield

Instead of turning on your wipers in order to get rid of snow, ice, and frost, you should use a snowbrush and scraper while running your defroster. Ice that’s on the windshield can cut up the rubber on your wiper blades and wear them out.
